In short
Vertical blinds hang as individual fabric louvres from a top track. They rotate to steer light and draw fully to one side, which makes them the standard choice for wide windows and sliding balcony doors — the two situations where most other blinds struggle.
Why choose vertical blinds over horizontal ones?
Width and doors. Verticals span very wide openings on a single track, and they stack to one side so a sliding door still opens. A horizontal blind over a patio door has to be raised every time you walk through it.
They also shed dust better than horizontal slats, which is a real advantage in Dubai — dust settles on the top edge of a horizontal slat and stays there.
How do you control light with vertical blinds?
By tilting rather than raising. Angling the louvres lets you block direct low sun from the side while keeping the room bright — something no roller blind can do. Closed fully they give near-complete privacy.
What widths do they suit?
Anything from a single window to a 6-metre run of glass on one track. Louvres come in 89mm and 127mm; the wider louvre suits large openings and gives a cleaner, calmer look with fewer vertical lines.

Questions
Vertical Blinds, answered.
The 1990s office version is. Current fabrics — textured weaves, blackout, sunscreen and faux-linen louvres in wide 127mm widths — look nothing like it. For a wide slider they remain the most practical option available.
Yes, and it is what they are best at. The louvres stack tightly to one side, clearing the door completely. We set the stack on whichever side suits your traffic through the door.
They can. A bottom chain links the louvres and controls this, which we fit as standard on balcony doors. For very exposed positions we can weight the louvres more heavily.
Yes — that is a real advantage over rollers. Individual louvres unclip and replace in seconds, so one damaged slat does not mean a new blind.
Vacuum with a brush head, or wipe PVC louvres with a damp cloth. Most fabric louvres can be unclipped and spot-cleaned flat, which is far easier than cleaning a fitted blind in place.
Yes. Motors can drive the traverse, the tilt, or both, with remote and app control. On a wide run this is a worthwhile upgrade — a 5-metre manual track is heavy to draw by hand.
