Motorized blinds replace the chain with a motor inside the roller tube, operated by remote, wall switch, phone app or voice. They suit tall and hard-to-reach windows, remove every accessible cord from a room, and can run on a schedule so the glass is covered before the afternoon sun hits it.
Which blinds can be motorised?
Rollers are the easiest because the motor sits inside the tube. Zebra, honeycomb, roman, vertical and venetian blinds can all be motorised too — venetians can have the tilt, the lift, or both driven.
Battery or hard-wired?
Battery motors recharge every six to twelve months and need no electrical work, which suits finished apartments. Hard-wired motors never need charging and are quieter, but need a power point at the head of the window.
Can they respond to the sun automatically?
Yes. A light sensor closes the blind when the sun reaches the window and reopens it afterwards, which is the single most useful automation in a Dubai summer — the glass is covered before the room heats up rather than after.

Battery motors keep working. Hard-wired blinds stop but can be operated manually, so you are never stuck with a blind you cannot move.
Every six to twelve months via USB-C, and the app warns you first. A small solar strip at the window extends that to effectively permanent.
Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit, with Matter support on most motors. We set the scenes up at installation rather than leaving you a manual.
Around 35–40 dB — quiet enough for a bedroom. Cheap motors are the ones that whine; the difference is audible immediately.
Sometimes, if the tube diameter and fabric weight suit a retrofit motor. We check at the visit and tell you honestly whether it is worth it versus replacing.
