What is the best curtain setup for a bedroom?
A double track carrying a sheer at the window and a lined blackout curtain in front. This gives filtered daylight and privacy by day, and full darkness at night, without compromising on either.
If the room only ever needs one layer, choose the blackout. A bedroom that cannot be darkened is a problem every single morning; a bedroom without a sheer is a minor aesthetic loss.
How long should bedroom curtains be?
Floor length, finishing about 1cm above the floor. Short curtains above a radiator or sill make a bedroom look smaller and leak light underneath. Mounting the track close to the ceiling rather than just above the window adds noticeable height to the room.
Which colours work best?
Colour has no effect on blackout performance — that comes from the lining — so choose for the room. Deeper tones make a bedroom feel more enclosed and restful; pale linens keep it airy and are more forgiving of dust in Dubai.

In almost every case, yes. Dubai sunrise is early year-round and light through a bedroom window is the most common cause of waking too early. Blackout lining is the single most valuable upgrade in a bedroom.
Curtains, generally. They seal better at the edges, insulate more, and soften sound. Blinds suit a bedroom where floor space is tight or the window sits behind furniture.
Fit the track 15–20cm wider than the window on each side, add a centre overlap where the two curtains meet, and close the returns to the wall at each end. Those three details eliminate almost all edge leak.
We fit cordless or motorised options as standard in children’s rooms — loose cords are a genuine safety hazard. Blackout also helps enormously with daytime naps.
Noticeably, yes. Full-length lined curtains with generous gathering absorb reflections and soften traffic noise from outside. They will not soundproof the room, but the difference is easy to hear.
Two to two-and-a-half times the track width for a lined bedroom curtain. Below twice the width the curtain looks flat and skimped even in expensive fabric.
